Little Big Town Pays Tribute
Little Big Town joined the thousands of others paying tribute to Prince on the night of his death with their own special message on Facebook.
That night, Little Big Town was performing along with Luke Bryan on his Kill the Lights Tour. At one point in the show, while standing under a dim purple light, they started singing Prince’s number one hit “When Doves Cry” as a tribute to him.
What made Little Big Town’s performance especially emotional is the fact that they performed the whole song a cappella. The decision to perform the song in such a way added a new level of beauty to it that we’re sure would have made Prince proud.
Little Big Town shared a short clip of their tribute performance on Facebook, and also included a message about how much Prince meant to them.
“Prince. An American original,” they wrote. “Thank you for the music and the memories. May you rest in peace.“
