Pairing up one half of hard rocking southern duo, Montgomery Gentry, and an Elvis impersonator isn’t something that happens frequently, but in this amazing one-of-a-kind performance, these two had a ball celebrating The King!

The Elvis impersonator (also known as a tribute act) is none other than well-known performer, Cody Ray Slaughter, who has been known throughout the nation for his incredible talent and Elvis shows.

Slaughter has earned many awards for his work as an Elvis tribute act, including The People’s Choice Award during Elvis Week in 2008. He also took home The New Horizon Award for best new Elvis Tribute Artist during the 2011 Las Vegas Elvis Fest.

Surprisingly, Troy Gentry first met Slaughter in Elvis Presley’s birthplace of Tupelo, MS. Gentry was working on some things in the area while the finals for an Elvis tribute contest were taking place.

As Gentry describes it to Outlaw Film, “He was performing down there and I got to meet him and talk, listen to his show, and hang out with him. We just struck up a friendship and have stayed in touch ever since.”

These two impressive performers take the stage during Elvis Week 2014 in Memphis, Tennessee and give the audience a special treat with a stunning 2-part rendition of Presley’s 1972 hit, “Burning Love”
