Billy Ray Cyrus Joins Two Country Legends To Mourn The Loss Of Fellow Singers

rollingstone.com

The music world reels every time a legend is lost, no matter the genre.

Because of its very personal and vulnerable lyrics, the country music genre seems to be affected a bit more than other genres.

Billy Ray Cyrus felt country music had lost too many legends, so he did what he does best: he wrote a song about it.

“Country Music Has The Blues” is about all the legends we’ve lost from Waylon to Conway to Roy Acuff to Buck Owens and everyone in between.

The song is from Cyrus’ ninth studio album, Wanna Be Your Joe. It was written by Cyrus’ son Trace and features the legendary singers Loretta Lynn and George Jones.

To get you out of the blues, make sure you tune into CMT on June 12th for the premiere of Cyrus’ brand new TV show, “Still The King”! Check out the trailer here.
