At the first sight of this little concert-goer, the country singer breaks down on stage…

Miranda Lambert has been a source of inspiration, motivation, and a role model to so many people. One of those people is Brooke Hester, who was battling Stage 4 Neuroblastoma cancer when she held hands with Lambert during a 2014 concert.

The 7-year-old had been fighting the disease for more than half of her life and endured years of chemotherapy along with a myriad of other treatments – spending a vast amount of time inside the walls of Texas hospitals. In this one beautiful moment at the country star’s concert – she got to forget about the hospitals and treatments and enjoy an amazing interaction!

Singing her hit song that was written in memory of Blake Shelton’s late brother, Lambert walks across the stage and spies young Brooke in a pink cowboy hat and a face mask holding out a gift for her.

After accepting the gift from Brooke, Lambert grabs onto her hand and holds it tight for a lengthy period, unable to continue singing “Over You” because the pure strength of emotions had overcome her. Even long after holding hands with the youngster, she could be seen wiping tears from her face.

The stunning interaction is another testament to just how compassionate Miranda Lambert truly is.
