Last summer Blake Shelton went through a very public divorce and dealt with it the only way he knew how – with music.
Writing his new album, If I’m Honest, was a sort of therapy for him during his rough spot. One night, he dreamed of a song and it eventually became a gospel tune he ended up including on the record.
I dreamed the song last summer.. I woke up and wrote down everything I could remember. https://t.co/3nfD82f2QB

“Savior’s Shadow” is a worshipful ballad that features a side of Shelton we aren’t used to seeing.
He released the official music video on Wednesday (May 18) and it is as pure and simple as the song is. It is shot in black and white and features Shelton playing guitar and singing on a bar stool.
The way the chose to shoot the video forces you to really listen to the song lyrics while realizing just how meaningful they are.
