Everyone knows when the fan-favorite member of Team Blake takes the stage, he’s going to get a standing ovation, but when Adam Wakefield took the stage for part one of The Voice’s Season 10 finale, nobody was expecting this

The country Voice hopeful stunned the audience and judges with a heart-stopping rendition of Vince Gill’s 26-year-old chart-topping hit, “When I Call Your Name”

Originally recorded by Gill in 1989, the track featured fellow superstar Patty Loveless as the background vocalist and the single nailed the No. 2 chart position the following year.

Wakefield’s chilling piano-laden rendition has him taking center stage under a massive and ornate chandelier, tickling the ivories as he delivers a mesmerizing and emotional cover of a ballad that won over America’s heart nearly three decades ago.

Following his performance, the coaches were simply awestruck.

“Your runs are so impressive to me, they are so accurate and insane,” Christina Aguilera gushed. “I love what you do up there. You are so talented.”

Even his own coach couldn’t help but applaud the immense talent that came pouring out of this soon-to-be superstar.

“You just blew the roof off with this performance,” Blake Shelton exclaimed.
