‘Duck Dynasty’ Crew Member Reveals His True Feelings About Robertson Family

Throughout the ten seasons of Duck Dynasty, there have been 5 or 6 different showrunners, which is the person in charge of pretty much everything on a TV show.

On Willie Robertson’s latest Fox News Radio podcast, he sits down with Ian Gelfand, the Duck Dynasty showrunner for the upcoming 10th Season.

Gelfan turned out to be the “first showrunner from New York,” which Robertson said made him have a “different attitude” than previous showrunners from Los Angeles.

Robertson described Gelfand as a “very liberal, Jewish New Yorker”, which is pretty much the opposite of anyone in the Robertson family!

Gelfand, who is also the executive producer of the drama-filled reality show Love & Hip-Hop, explains that their beliefs and backgrounds may be different, but he thinks all the Robertson are “good people”.

He reveals he had only seen a couple episodes of Duck Dynasty and heard about the Robertson family on the news before signing on for Season 10.

He’s most likely referring to Phil Robertson’s controversial comments a couple years ago, but he assured Robertson that he didn’t come into the situation with any preconceived notions.

“Honestly, I’m not a judgemental person,” he says. “I gotta see for myself, whatever the news says, I never take that as gospel. I think the way I was brought up, you gotta see for yourself.”

Despite their differences, Robertson and Gelfand have become fast friends and have dinner together almost every night. Gelfand reveals they’ve already filmed enough for about seven episodes!

We can’t wait for a new season of Duck Dynasty! In the meantime, check out this hilarious clip from Season 9!
