Gunning for a spot in the Top 10 on Season 11 of NBC’s The Voice, 15-year-old Aliyah Moulden proved her worth with a jaw-dropping rendition of Reba McEntire‘s “Take It Back.”
“America is falling in love with you because it’s impossible not to,” Aliyah’s coach Blake Shelton told her following her breathtaking performance.
The talented young singer’s rendition of Reba’s 1992 hit was full of charisma and sass, seeming – as Shelton went on to say – like the song was “tailor made” for her voice. The young contestant went on to share with her coach that the song reminds her of the music she and her grandmother used to listen to together.
“Take It Back” was released by Reba off her critically acclaimed album It’s Your Call. While the song has an upbeat tempo, it tells the story of a woman scorned and throwing her cheating ex out onto the streets.
