Country singer Blake Shelton met up with talk show host Jimmy Fallon back in 2014 to teach him the proper care and treatment of man’s best friend, his truck. An excited Fallon shared with Shelton that he recently purchased a Ford F150, which he talked about a lot of his show.

Shelton revealed that his then-wife Miranda Lambert had the exact same truck, which Fallon took as a jab.

“Men and women can both enjoy the same trucks,” he fired back after the audience erupts into laughter.

Because he’s a “truck-drivin’ dude,” Fallon said he needed a truck specific playlist for it, and he told the “Honey Bee” singer that two of his songs made it on the playlist.

After grilling Fallon about his music, he asked the talk show host if he is keeping his truck clean and well-maintained.

“It’s pretty clean, yeah” Fallon told him.

Shelton chimed in quickly, “That’s wrong.”

Here’s why:

“If you’re going to buy a truck you gotta get some mud on it! You gotta have mud on the side, dents in it, scratches, and guts in the back…corn and shovels. Trucks are a tool! You don’t drive around the city in it.”

To the bewilderment of the country singer, the talk show host revealed the main reason he purchased the truck was in preparation for “pumpkin season.”
