Elvis Presley And His Daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, Singing ‘In The Ghetto’ Will Bring Y’all To Tears
on Aug 19, 2016 • Updated Feb 25, 2019
Elvis Presley’s only daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, sings alongside her legendary father in this remastered mash-up of each of the artist’s performance of The King’s classic “In the Ghetto.”
The video synchronizes the two’s individual performances to turn the two solo acts into a beautiful duet. Each performance is shown in black and white giving the video a melancholy feel which acts as symbolism for both the sorrowful lyrics as well as the father-daughter relationship that never really was.
“People, don’t you understand the child needs a helping hand,” they sing together. “Or he’ll grow to be an angry young man some day.”
Lisa Marie lost her father when she was only 9 years old and became the sole heir to Elvis’ estate after the death of her grandparents.
