Elvis Presley’s only daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, sings alongside her legendary father in this remastered mash-up of each of the artist’s performance of The King’s classic “In the Ghetto.”
The video synchronizes the two’s individual performances to turn the two solo acts into a beautiful duet. Each performance is shown in black and white giving the video a melancholy feel which acts as symbolism for both the sorrowful lyrics as well as the father-daughter relationship that never really was.
“People, don’t you understand the child needs a helping hand,” they sing together. “Or he’ll grow to be an angry young man some day.”
Lisa Marie lost her father when she was only 9 years old and became the sole heir to Elvis’ estate after the death of her grandparents.
Lisa followed in her father’s footsteps and kept his legacy alive when she released her debut album To Whom It May Concern which was certified Gold and reached No.5 on Billboard 200 Albums charts.
You can watch the touching collaboration between one of the arguably most famous father-daughter duo in the video below.
