Dick Van Dyke And His Wife Share A Special Dance Together

We’ve all seen Mary Poppins and can attest to Dick Van Dyke‘s amazing dance skills.  He filmed that movie in 1964 and by the looks of it, has been dancing ever since!

The Dustbowl Revival, a Venice, California-based bluegrass band, recently teamed up with Dick Van Dyke and his wife Arlene, to film this fun video! The song “Never Had To Go”  is from their new album, “With a Lampshade On,” which is set to release on July 21st!

Van Dyke turns on the record player, in hopes of dancing with his wife who is busy cooking up something that looks delicious! He tries different ways to make her dance, even dressing up a huge teddy bear in a boa! While cooking, she starts to feel the beat herself! He finally just asks her to dance with him (no gimmicks!) and they adorably do a couple jazz squares and he takes her outside to show her that The Dustbowl Revival is outside their house, performing live for them!  They take their dance party outside and look they they are having a blast dancing together! Dick Van Dyke hasn’t lost a beat and his smile is still just as infectious! We can’t believe he is 89-years-old!

The video will have you itching to hear The Dustbowl Revival’s full album, and smiling from ear to ear!

Lyrics

If I was a bird flying high in the sky
If I was the apple of your eye
If I didn’t have such a restless heart
We could be together, I mean never apart

If I was a beetle crawling at your feet
If I was a car and I hit you in the street
Would you stop … and pay me any mind
We could say hello, I mean never goodbye

Oh oh oh, you hit the road
It’s all my fault
I know, oh, I know
Say it isn’t so
You never had to go

If I was a cloud flying over the park
If I was a knock on your door in the dark
Would you open up and give me a kiss
We didn’t have to end it baby, not like this

And if I was a creek flowing by your mama’s house
Would you drink me up with your honey mouth
Would you stop … and hear what I would say
That one night with Bobby don’t mean nothin’ anyway

Oh oh oh, you hit the road
It’s all my fault
I know, oh, I know
Say it isn’t so
You never had to go

Well if I was a spire way up on a steeple
If I was a fire rainin’ down on all the people
Would you stop and hear what I would say
That one night with Bobby don’t mean nothin’ anyway

Oh oh oh, you hit the road
It’s all my fault
I know, oh, I know
Say it isn’t so
You never had to go
I know, oh, I know
Say it isn’t so
You never had to go
Oh, you never had to go
Oh, you never had to go
