All we can say is: thank God for modern technology. For those of us that are too young to have ever experienced the real deal that was Patsy Cline, we’ll now get the opportunity to see the icon perform her hits as a hologram in 2016.
Patsy passed away in 1962 in a plane crash – way too soon and way too young. She was a bright and shining star in the country music world with a timeless talent that people still talk about to this day. Fortunately Hologram USA, who is known for their hologram of Tupac Shakur that performed at Coachella in 2012, will be bringing us this rare treat. They partnered up with Patsy Cline’s estate. According to Billboard, the hologram will be the centerpiece of a full concert experience, which will include performance, commentary and audience interaction.
The CEO of Hologram USA, Alki David, stated, “We debuted our hologram technology to the Country music world with Jimmy Kimmel at the Country Music Awards. Now Patsy Cline will demonstrate how we can bring all the warmth and virtuosity of a true icon back for new audiences. We chose Patsy as our first Country hologram project, and our first female hologram project, for a reason: she was a pioneer who influenced generations of singers around the globe.”
Patsy’s widower, Charlie Dick, also had something very positive to say about this event. “We are very glad to share Patsy and her music with this new technology and format and honored by Hologram USA’s choice to have her as the first. I am sure her fans, old and new, will be thrilled.”
We couldn’t be more excited about this! What do y’all think?
WALKING AFTER MIDNIGHT – LYRICS
I go out walkin’ after midnight
Out in the moonlight, just like we used to do
I’m always walkin’ after midnight
Searchin’ for you
I walk for miles along the highway
Well, that’s just my way of sayin’ I love you
I’m always walkin’ after midnight
Searchin’ for you
I stop to see a weepin’ willow
Cryin’ on his pillow
Maybe he’s cryin’ for me
And as the skies turn gloomy
Night winds whisper to me
I’m lonesome as I can be
I go out walkin’ after midnight
Out in the starlight, just hoping you may be
Somewhere a-walkin’ after midnight
Searchin’ for me
I stop to see a weepin’ willow
Cryin’ on his pillow
Maybe he’s cryin’ for me
And as the skies turn gloomy
Night winds whisper to me
I’m lonesome as I can be
I go out walkin’ after midnight
Out in the starlight, just hoping you may be
Somewhere a-walkin’ after midnight
Searchin’ for me
