During their final concert, The Statler Brothers took the stage to perform the classic christian hymn, “Amazing Grace“. They’ve performed numerous gospel favorites throughout their career, but there’s just nothing like their performances of this timeless hymn. The Country Music Hall of Famers really give it all they’ve got in this one and it’s absolutely stunning.
“Amazing Grace” was written in 1779 by English clergyman and poet, John Newton. He penned the song, inspired by his own personal experiences. John lived a life of many twist, turns, and coincidences, and these events ultimately led him to God and the creation of this song.
The Statler Brothers define harmony in this performance. They bring it all together in the end, knocking this one out of the park and leaving us speechless. A beautiful performance that only The Statler Brothers could achieve.
AMAZING GRACE LYRICS
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now I’m found
Was blind but now I see
It was Grace that taught my heart to fear
And Grace my fears relieved
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed
Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come
It is Grace that brought me safe thus far
And Grace will lead me home
When we’ve been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’ve first begun
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now I’m found
Was blind but now I see
I once was lost but now I’m found
Was blind but now I see
