Ray Charles is an American icon and when it comes to “America the Beautiful“, he knows how to do it right. In this live performance from The Dick Cavett Show in September of 1972.

His performance is absolutely beautiful and as you listen it just takes your breath away. The iconic and highly popular version of the song is one of the most recognized versions, and as you hear Ray play the piano and sing, you can understand why. It’s an amazing rendition of the song that gives you chills as you listen.
