Kenny Rogers Serenades The Mandrell Sisters With “Three Times A Lady” (VIDEO)

Kenny Rogers took the phrase “Three Times A Lady” to a whole new level.  Performing on the Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters television show in 1980, the crooner sang the ballad to the three Mandrell Sisters.

He goes around hugging and serenading each of the sisters.  Barbara, Louise, and Irlene definitely enjoyed it! Eventually they all embrace Kenny and look so happy!

Three Times A Lady” was written by Lionel Richie when he was the lead singer in the band “The Commodores.” He was inspired to write it when he attended the wedding anniversary of his parents and his father made a speech about how much he loved his wife and was appreciative that she’s stood by his side for 37 years.  He wrote the song as a dedication to his wife and mother.  The song was Lionel Richie’s first #1 hit.

Lyrics

Thanks for the times
That you’ve given me
The memories are all in my mind
And now that we’ve come
To the end of our rainbow
There’s something
I must say out loud
You’re once, twice
Three times a lady
Yes you’re once twice
Three times a lady

And I love you
When we are together
The moments I cherish
With every beat of my heart
To touch you to hold you
To feel you to need you
There’s nothing to keep us apart
You’re once twice
Three times a lady
And I love you
I love you
