Northerners Hilariously Try To Guess The Meaning Of Southern Phrases

Buzzfeed Yellow

The South is known for producing great music, amazing food, and as we now know, interesting, yet confusing phrases.

Buzzfeed Video, with the help of two Southerners, interviewed their employees about phrases that are mainly heard in the South.

Slang like “piddle“, “tan my hide“, “knee high to a grasshopper“, and “cattywampus” were shown to the young employees, who are clearly not from the South, and had to guess what it actually means. The outcome is hilarious!

For example, some people thought “piddle” meant peeing your pants, or a pitbull-poodle hybrid

How many of these phrases do you use?! And do Northerners get confused when they hear you speak them?!

Watch the hilarious video below!
