Elvira, Elvira, my heart’s on fire, for Elvira…
Home Free Vocal Band got to join ranks with the legendary Oak Ridge Boys for a fantastic performance of their signature song, “Elvira”. And when we say you’ll be blown away, we mean it. We already know how talented the Home Free guys are thanks to their phenomenal renditions of tunes like Josh Turner’s “Your Man” and Rascal Flatt’s “Life Is A Highway”, but we didn’t realize what could be born from a joint performance like this one.
Written by Dallas Frazier, “Elvira” was released in 1981 on The Oak Ridge Boys’ Fancy Free album. Several artists have recorded their own version, including Kenny Rogers, but the most notable version is definitely that of The Oak Ridge Boys, as it reached the #1 spot on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles chart and has since then become a timeless classic.
This may just be one of Home Free’s best performances. Once you start watching, it’s practically impossible to tear your eyes away from the screen. Their mixture of voices, old and new, really is a recipe for success.
Heigh-ho Silver, away…
