Christopher Duffley hasn’t had it easy, but he’s learned to rise above and because of it, he can bring hope to those who have gone through similar trials.
Christopher was born in May 2001, while his mother was on oxycontin and cocaine. Born blind and later confirmed autistic, he was put into the foster care, so his uncle went down to Florida and took him out of the system. “He’s been a blessing to our family,” his uncle states. Christopher usually sings patriotic songs, but after a mission trip, at only four years old, he performed Michael W. Smith’s hit song, “Open The Eyes Of My Heart” for the first time in front of an audience.
In 2011, at the age of 10, he took the stage one more time to perform the same worship song. His voice rang throughout the auditorium. A chill-producing rendition, he lights up the stage with his talent and inspires everyone to sing along. There is so much heart and soul in this young boy that the atmosphere changes into something else entirely as soon as he opens his mouth.
If there was one dry eye in the audience after his performance, we would be very surprised. Now, tell us, who else got goosebumps?
OPEN THE EYES OF MY HEART LYRICS
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You
To see You high and lifted up
Shinin’ in the light of Your glory
Pour out Your power and love
As we sing holy, holy, holy
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You
To see You high and lifted up
Shinin’ in the light of Your glory
Pour out Your power and love
As we sing holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy
We cry holy, holy, holy
You are holy, holy, holy
I want to see you
Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy
You are holy, holy, holy
I want to see you
Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy,
I want to see you
