Alan Robertson (The ‘Beardless Brother’) Reflects On His Dark Past

Before Alan Robertson became the man he is today, a preacher who spends his life spreading the word of God, he was a troubled youth.

In an emotional interview with Life Today, Alan reflected on his ‘dark’ past. Alan said that before he found the Lord, he was living a double life and his family did not approve. At a low point, Alan said his father pulled him aside and told him, Al, I love you. You know the life I live, I turned it around. But you can’t keep living this way and stay here.”

And Alan left, saying, “I went to find myself, and I went to the spiritual oasis of New Orleans, Louisiana. And if you don’t go to New Orleans with a game plan, you’re going to find trouble, and I did.

But the moment that changed Alan’s life came a year and a half after leaving his family behind. In the interview, Alan told Life Today

I got into a confrontation with a man because I had been fooling around with his wife. So now, add adultery to my long list of sins. And that day he was there to kill me, and he didn’t, by the grace of God.

He admitted in that moment he knew it was time to change, saying, “I was beaten, literally, and bruised, and I had an awakening. That was my moment, sitting on a street in Kenner, Louisiana, on the side of a curb.

Alan knew in that instant that it was time to go home to his family, and to the Lord.

And he did just that.
