George Strait’s Heartwarming Family Moment Shows Us What Really Matters

George Strait YouTube Channel

In a world where communication happens through a screen more often than face to face, George Strait reminds us of the importance of good conversation.

Walmart released a promo clip advertising Strait’s new album, Cold Beer Conversation, which features the King of Country spending some quality time with his son, Bubba and his grandson, Harvey.

The clip shows Strait leading a horse out of a barn and saddling up to join Bubba for a ride in the field. Father and son both wear matching black cowboy hats, and even put an oversized hat on Harvey’s head as well. At the end of the clip father, son, and grandson sit together on the porch, talking, laughing, and enjoying the conversation.

In a voice over that plays throughout the clip, Strait talks about how important a good conversation is in comparison to everything else:

“Life’s not about the roof over your head or your political persuasions or the latest gadget that you can fit in your pocket. Life is about the relationships you make, some out of love, and some out of hard work, and some that are simply worthy of a little conversation.”

Last week, Strait announced that after two years he would be releasing a new album, called Cold Beer Conversation. The album was released exclusively at Walmart stores and through iTunes on Friday, September 25.

Strait also announced that despite retiring from touring in 2014, he plans on playing a series of shows at the new Las Vegas Arena in 2016. The shows will be on April 22 and 23 and September 9 and 10.
