Johnny Cash’s Daughter Shares A Side Of Him We’ve Never Seen Before

The Man in Black’s youngest daughter Tara is sharing cherished memories of her father. Johnny Cash is remembered for being the badass rockabilly, rule breaker who revolutionized music. Rarely did fans ever see his soft side, but Tara recently shared a book where we see just that. 

Dad, Share Your Life With Me by Kathleen Lashier, contains 365 questions. On Tara’s birthday, Cash gave the book to her with answers to all the questions.

 Tara explained to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, 

“This book helps to really paint a picture of what life was like for my Dad, what his interests were, his family traditions, his feelings about so many things… this book is one of my personal treasures, and it gives me great pleasure to share it with his fans.”

The questions and answers she talks about are all critical in the creation of Recollections, a new book based on the notes. They include photos that show a more light-hearted side to Cash.

“The main reason I wanted to share this book, is to let my father’s fans see a more playful, fun and candid side of him,” explained Tara.

Below are some of the questions and answers, written in Cash’s own handwriting.  

 “The honesty and the simplicity of this book is so heartwarming to me, and full of love from Father to daughter.  He shares so much in this book about his childhood and young adulthood, and the reader really can observe who my father really was, aside from the icon that everyone knew.”

Tara went on to speak even more fondly of her famous father. She reminisced on how much laughter and joy he brought to her life. She loves this book because she can still laugh at his very candid answers, and remember the Man in Black for who he really was.
