It’s hard to imagine living in a 4ft by 4ft space, but one mechanic says it is doable, in the short term. When Andy Saunders and owner of “Kamper and Kars” in Poole, England, Martin Ford teamed up to build a mini camper, they never thought it would receive this type of attention.
It all started out as a joke… just a simple hobby. But the “cramper-van” as it was later deemed became a sensation. The tiny vehicle is actually classified as a bicycle and doesn’t need to be registered to go on roads. No motor needed! It contains four seats, a stove, a bed, and even a sink. What more could you possibly need? Besides maybe a little extra space.
Saunders is a custom-car enthusiast who dreamt up the idea to meld together a Bambi van, and Butlins-style pedal cart to create the 4×4 mobile masterpiece.
It’s hard not to be stunned by the incredible use of space. The roof extends out 2ft by 6 inches which allows enough room for the very tiny bed nestled above the living area.
You would certainly have to get used to living in a tight space, because it could get cramped even when traveling solo. Regardless, it is all in good fun and maybe the British creation will one day make it’s way to the U.S.!
