Garth Brooks is a busy man, but he’s never too busy to give back to the kids.
While on his world tour, Brooks made a pit stop in Wichita, Kansas, where his organization Teammates for Kids Foundation teamed up with ProCamps to put on a baseball camp.
About 40 kids attended the camp and Brooks took it as an opportunity to spread some wisdom. He actually does have some baseball experience under his belt!
Brooks played baseball in high school and even had a short stint in the minor leagues before becoming a world-wide country star. According to MLB, Brooks has participated in spring training with the San Diego Padres, Kansas City Royals, and the New York Mets.
He spoke to all the kids about the biggest lesson he could ever teach them. “It’s about loving the game,” he said. “It’s about loving and respecting your teammates, your opponents…It’s especially about loving yourself.”
Brooks believes love goes a long way.
“Love is the greatest weapon we have,” he continues. “It’s greater than any weapons of mass destruction. Love is what’s going to save us. What’s going on in the U.S., what’s going on in the world, the answer is love. We’ve got to figure it out.”
Watch him speak about his greatest weapon, love, below.
