Thomas Rhett Brings Hilarious Fan On Stage For Garth Brooks’ ‘Friends In Low Places’

Garth Brooks‘ mega-hit “Friends In Low Places” is simply a fun song by nature. But when Thomas Rhett performed his version at a concert in Herrin, Illinois in May 2014, he managed to add a whole new element of fun to the song.

“Friends In Low Places” was released as the lead single off of Brooks’ album No Fences in 1990. The song soared to the top spot on the Billboard U.S. Hot Country Songs chart in just eight weeks, holding its place for a total of four weeks. In addition, the song earned the ACM and the CMA awards for Single of the Year for 1990.

For his performance of “Friends In Low Places,” Rhett decided to invite a fan on stage to perform along with him. The fan he chose to come on stage definitely doesn’t suffer from stage fright, as he proudly sings into the microphone when Rhett points it his way.

It seems like Rhett and his fan have a blast performing together, as they wrap their arms around one another and belt out the lyrics to the song. At one point, the fan and Rhett even start dancing and “shakin’ it” like Luke Bryan!

At the end of the performance, Rhett hands the microphone over to the fan, who sings the last few words of the song as the crowd cheers like wild.
