Luke Bryan Opens Up About Talking To His Children About Jesus

PEOPLE

Like other children all around the world, Luke Bryan‘s kids get extra excited at Christmas time.

Luke and his wife Caroline are parents to two boys, Bo and Tate, and are also raising his nephew, Til. In a recent interview with Rare Country on the CMT Artists of the Year Awards red carpet, Luke says that his kids have lots of things on their wish lists this year.

[Those] hover board things. Like, the little Segway things. Always BB guns, bow and arrows, Legos. Obviously, no books and no clothes. Who wants that crap?” he says.

Even though Luke understands the excitement in receiving gifts on Christmas, he wants to make sure his children know about the true reason for the season.

He says that him and Caroline try to talk to their boys about their faith every day, but they really encourage them to focus on it around Christmas:

“We try to stress, every day, stress to them, the importance of Jesus and Christianity and being a good person and believing in higher powers. I think during Christmas time, with kids, they get wrapped up in Santa Claus and stuff, so I think it’s fun that you sit back and really try to have a talk with them about the real reason.”

As we get wrapped up in other aspects of the holiday season, we sometimes forget about the true reason for all the celebration, but Luke and Caroline are doing a great job at making sure that’s not the case with their boys.
