Nashville Songwriter Pens ‘Joey’s Song’, A Tribute To Joey Feek

Joey Feek was diagnosed with cancer for the second time this past July and her husband, Rory, has documented every step. While we’re sure there are things he hasn’t said, Rory has been candid about his wife’s cancer battle by sharing their emotional journey on his blog. As a result, the husband-wife duo has gained an enormous new following. Many are hearing Joey+Rory’s music for the first time, and many are falling in love with it all over again.

Many of you across the country — even the world — have wanted to show their support and love for Joey in recent months. The couple has been swarmed with cards, letters, and emails of prayer and encouragement, but a Nashville singer/songwriter has taken it one step farther.

Tyler Hayes has been a fan of Joey Feek from the beginning. After finding out that she was stopping cancer treatments in October, Hayes penned a song for Joey, aptly titled “Joey’s Song.” Shortly after completing the song, Hayes went into the studio and with the help of Crystal Burks-Barker at Dark Horse Studios, producer Rich Prather, Christopher Floyd and many others, recorded his touching tribute and made it available on iTunes. 100% of the proceeds from the song will go to a charity of Joey’s choice.

“I wrote ‘Joey’s Song’ to give hope to her family. I wanted to let them know that she will never leave them no matter what,” Hayes said. “Even if her physical body leaves, her spirit will remain. Please help me share this everywhere and let’s show Joey how much she is loved!”
