You’ll Never Guess What The Oak Ridge Boys And Mike Tyson Have In Common!

The Oak Ridge Boys

One of this season’s hottest gifts was the self-balancing, two-wheeled contraption called a hoverboard. The Back To The Future-ish ride topped the wish lists of boys and girls (and even some adults) across the globe. While slightly different from the hoverboards featured in Back To The Future, the toy is proving to be as dangerous as they are fun with some catching fire and others throwing their riders to the ground.

On Christmas Day, Joe Bonsall, lead singer for the Oak Ridge Boys, posted a photo of his hoverboard mishap with a caption that read: “Grandson ‪@lscarver rocking the hoverboard! POP POP should have stayed OFF!!”

Bonsall shared an updated photo of his injury earlier today (Dec. 29) and we have to agree with Joe….He’s lucky he didn’t shatter anything!

Ironically, Bonsall’s update was posted around the same time heavyweight boxing champion, Mike Tyson shared a video on Twitter of his hoverboard accident. In the video we see Tyson, looking pretty confident, get bested by the futuristic toy as it suddenly throws him to the ground.

Who would have thought that Joe Bonsall and Mike Tyson would have something in common? Thankfully, both guys are okay and Joe Bonsall has a few weeks for those bruises to heal before he hits the road with the Oak Ridge Boys for their first concerts of 2016 .
