Vince Gill is back in a BIG way!

Gill is releasing his first album in 3 years, and we couldn’t be more excited! Down To My Last Bad Habit will be released in February 2016, making the mark of a new year an exciting time for the country music legend.

According to Rare Country, Gill spoke about the album and how different it is compared to past records. The tracks are mostly collaborations with up and coming country artists including Ashley Monroe, Cam, and even his daughters Jenny and Corrina.

The only pure country song on the record is one near and dear to Gill’s heart. He wrote “Sad One Comin’ On” after the passing of his longtime friend and country music icon, George Jones. Gill was one of Jones’ favorite singers who he nicknamed, “Sweet Pea”, and their friendship was something they both treasured deeply.

Gill has been candid about this new album, and where his inspiration to write comes from.

The older I get, the more honest I get,” he told reporters at the album’s listening party in Nashville. “I’m almost 59. I have the next three records I’m going to make in my head, and I’m going to start right away.”

Even though the new songs aren’t “classic” they still show Gill’s 70’s inspired sound. One indication is the album’s sultry lead single, “Take Me Down” featuring Little Big Town.
