Rory Feek Reveals That He ‘Has No Desire’ To Sing Without Joey

While his beautiful wife continues to battle cancer, Rory reveals that the future won’t be the same…

Just a few months ago, Joey + Rory shared the devastating news that the chemotherapy treatments Joey had undergone were unsuccessful and they had decided to cease all treatment and return home.

Now, in an exclusive interview with ET, Rory shares what he believes the future holds for them musically and reveals that he will not continue making music without Joey.

“This is the last record that Joey and I will ever get to make and the last songs we’ll ever get to sing together,” Rory says, referencing their upcoming album Hymns That Are Important To Us.

I have no desire to go on singing or performing without her…,” he confessed.

The country duo has been known for their singer-songwriter sound since their debut album The Life of A Song in 2008. Prior to forming the group with his wife, Rory worked as a songwriter in Nashville and penned hits for artists like Blake Shelton, Clay Walker, and Tracy Byrd. Joey + Rory gained a mass of followers and achieved tremendous success with their Top 40 hit “Cheater, Cheater” as their debut single.

Rory has been documenting their family’s story on his blog as they go through this battle with Joey. The story is heartbreaking, as the young couple is so full of love and life – especially with their daughter Indiana, whose second birthday will come in February.

Although the struggle with cancer is difficult, the singer-songwriter admits that their beloved fans are incredibly encouraging.

“We’ve received hundreds, if not thousands of letters and cards and gifts that people have sent to us through all of this,” Rory shared with ET. “Many of them tell stories of their struggles with cancer, their families, and their faith. They write and share their hearts with us to encourage us, just as we strive to encourage them through our journey and my blog.”

We continue to pray for these two wonderful people and keep them in our thoughts.

Be on the look out for their upcoming album, Hymns That Are Important To Us, which will be released on February 12th, exclusively at Cracker Barrel Restaurants.

For now, please pray for Joey + Rory and listen to their heartbreaking single “When I’m Gone” in the video below.
