Wynonna Judd’s Newest Record Was Inspired By WHAT Hilarious Moment?!

The last time Wynonna Judd released a full-length studio album of original material was in 2003, and fans have been anxious to hear some new music from the “No One Else on Earth” singer.

Well fans don’t have to wait much longer, because Judd is set to release her next record, Wynonna & the Big Noise on Friday (Feb. 12).

With a total of 12 tracks, the first of which was co-written by Chris Stapleton, the record is like nothing else Judd has ever done. Her husband, Cactus Moser, played a major role in the album, co-writing some of the songs and being featured on the drums.

But as Judd and Moser revealed in a recent interview about the album, Moser’s role in its creation is even greater than the credits show. As it turns out, the record may not have happened at all if it wasn’t for Moser and one drunken moment on the Fourth of July.

When asked to explain how the record came to be, Judd and Moser couldn’t help but laugh as Judd recalled the moment that inspired its creation:

“It was July 4th, we’d come back from a party, and Cactus had had some moonshine and I didn’t know about it.  And he was playing this song in the car and he was really blasting it, and I kept saying ‘I don’t really like this song.’ So it started out with us fighting about this new song that was so different and so outside my comfort zone.”

Judd is excited for the release of the new album, saying that it’s different than anything she’s ever done. She also spoke about how before, she had almost been trapped in performing her “Wynonnaisms” of growls and attitude.

With this new album, Judd said she managed to find something in her voice that reminded her of when she was younger and just getting started. The result is an album she fell in love with.

It’s perfectly imperfect,” she said. “It’s real. It’s raw. It’s spontaneous.”

Moser beamed with pride as he listened to his wife talk about her new album and how much fun she had working on it with him and the rest of the band.

Make the music and let it make the way,” he said.
