92-Year-Old WWII Veteran Will Have You In Tears As He Beautifully Serenades His Dying Wife

Warning: This video contains incredibly emotional material that is guaranteed to make even the most callous of people sob uncontrollably.

As a 93-year-old woman lay frail and fading in a hospital room, her 92-year-old husband took this heartbreaking moment to serenade the love of his life in a moment that had the internet in tears. Although struggling to stand on his own, husband of 73 years Howard Serena moved his wheelchair to the edge of his wife Laura Serena’s bed in order to hold her close and exchange heartwarming words of love. “I was your best lover. I don’t know how many other lovers you had, but I was the best,” Howard joked, eliciting chuckles from friends and family in the room.

After the two addressed their undying love for another, a soft musical intro began to play as Howard emotionally serenaded Laura with “You’ll Never Know” by Rosemary Clooney with Harry James. He gently caressed her face as he gazed into her eyes, holding back tears and basking in what would become one of the final moments of their lives together.

Howard passed away eight months later with his wife by his side. It was only five days after his death that his wife Laura passed, desperately missing the “best lover” of her life.

Country music outlaw Willie Nelson recorded a version of the heartwarming ballad back in 1978 on his album Stardust, assisting in making the tune available to the country world.
