This massive crowd of fans in Oklahoma got a surprise they’d never expect during a recent concert when gravelly-voiced Aaron Lewis brought the son of a beloved country legend to the stage for a tribute that will bring you to tears!

For a performance on his current tour schedule, Lewis took to the stage in his classic real country boy fashion, to a screaming roar of applause from fans and tells the story about how he purchased the weathered, old, guitar he was holding.

Littered with signatures, Lewis calls out every country music icon who had signed it, but says that there was one signature that made it much more important to him: the signature of Merle Haggard

As the audience raged with applause following his last statement, Lewis drew a deep breath and announced that Merle’s son, Ben Haggard, would be joining him for the next song of the night.

“So, I’m gonna have my friend come out here and play this song with us. It’s a song his daddy wrote.”

And with that, Lewis and Haggard kicked off a powerfully emotional performance of Merle’s famous “Heaven Was A Drink of Wine”.

If you’ve ever wanted to see these two incredibly talented musicians perform together, you are sure in for a treat, and for such a great reason – to honor a man that they both looked up to and admired.
