Aubrie Sellers Is A Force To Be Reckoned With In Feisty New Single ‘Liar Liar’

Over the course of the past year, there’s one name that has been mentioned more and more in Nashville…Aubrie Sellers. If she keeps things up, it won’t be long before her name is one of the biggest in the entire country music community.

Sellers, the daughter of Lee Ann Womack and songwriter Jason Sellers, released her debut album New City Blues in January 29. Although she considers herself a country artist, Sellers’ music travels in a different direction than her mother’s.

Everyone does their own tastes and everything,” Sellers said during an interview with The Boot. “I’ve discovered music that’s very different from theirs, and my music is very different from theirs.

That music is a blend of country, rock, and a little bit of blues. Sellers refers to her musical style and being “garage country,” a term that she coined herself. Her distinct style can be heard throughout the tracks on New City Blues, including her first two singles, “Light of Day” and “Sit Here and Cry.”

Now, Sellers is back with what may be her most intense single yet. Titled “Liar Liar,” the feisty tune calls out a man who tries to smooth talk a girl he just met.

But Sellers isn’t having it, and she fires back at him with fighting words:

You never felt this way. Yeah, you never fall this far. You never believed in love at first sight until tonight, when I walked in this bar. Liar liar, womanizer. Bargain-bin romanticizer.

Combined with the lyrics, Sellers’ subdued delivery of the song offers it a great sense of power. There’s something about the way that she nearly whispers “liar liar,” that sends a chill up your spine.

Sellers’ band should also be commended for their work on the track. The steady drum beat and strums of the guitars mimic the sound of a pounding heart, offering a further sense of suspense to the tune.

Everything about “Liar Liar” has it perfectly poised to become country music’s next big hit. You can check it out for yourself in the clip below, then let us know what you think when you’re done.

This song proves that Sellers has what it takes to change the game in country music!
