Billy Ray Cyrus Performs Bluesy Version Of ‘Amazing Grace’ At CMA Fest

YouTube/ Back To Tennessee

You’ve never heard “Amazing Grace” like this before.

Billy Ray Cyrus is not new to reinventing himself and after a decade-long country music career, he switched his attention to the gospel/Christian music genre. He released two Christian albums, one of which included the classic hymn “Amazing Grace”.

Cyrus’ album version of the gospel tune is very soulful and upbeat, but sometimes when he performs it, he sings the song slower and unplugged.

This particular live version is more bluesy than normal, but we love it! It includes an electric guitar riff, a soulful piano solo, and Cyrus’ awesome vocals, of course!

His rendition of “Amazing Grace” has some fans saying that they love his cover as much as the more traditional versions!

Cyrus has reinvented himself again for his upcoming album, Thin Line, which will be released on September 9.

If you preorder the album here on Amazon or here on iTunes, you will receive an instant download of “Hey Elvis” featuring legendary rocker Glenn Hughes and a remake of the Don Williams classic “Tulsa Time” featuring Aerosmith rocker Joe Perry. The title track will also be available for instant download on August 12!
