One of the most bittersweet moments is being caught in a happy memory surrounding someone you no longer speak to. While Blake Shelton often projects a somewhat “tough guy” exterior, the country singer let his guard down at CMA Fest for an emotionally-charged performance of his latest single, “Every Time I Hear That Song.”
Year after year the biggest names in country music come together in Nashville for star-studded four day long musical event, the highly anticipated CMA Music Festival. While it took place in June, the festival didn’t air until tonight (August 16) on ABC, the televised event hosted by Thomas Rhett and Kelsea Ballerini.
The country superstar poured his heart and soul into his performance, taking a heart-wrenching approach to his delivery of the pain-ridden lyrics at the music festival.
“Every Time I Hear That Song” was released as the fifth single off Shelton’s tenth studio album If I’m Honest. After being released as single in February 2017, the song has since sold 136,000 copies and climbed to No.1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.
