One of the most unlikely friendships was born back in 2010 when two of the biggest names in music were cast as coaches on NBC’s The Voice. Now six years and twelve seasons later, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are closer than ever, even with their constant “bickering.”
“We are constantly at each other’s throats, and sometimes we really do get mad at each other,” said Shelton according to The Tennessean. “We’re those two guys you knew in high school where we have this bond that is unexplainable. It brings out the best and worst in both of us. It truly is an explosive relationship.”
The self-proclaimed “grumpy old men” and their teams will face off next week in the final rounds of season 12 of the singing competition. While the best friends may constantly be at each other off camera, Shelton went on the share that Levine is always there for him when he needs him the most.
“I’ve stayed at the man’s house with him,” Shelton said. “He’s one of the best friends that I have, but I still want to kill him sometimes.”
Earlier in 2017, when the Maroon 5 frontman was receiving his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the country singer gave an emotional speech about the deep connection he and Levine share.
