Looks like Blake Shelton is taking an interesting approach with an upcoming video of his!
Back when Shelton released his album If I'm Honest, fans were quick to spot a collaborative track with legendary country group the Oak Ridge Boys. That track, titled "Doing It to Country Songs," has never been released as a single, but remains a fan-favorite regardless.
Shelton and the Oak Ridge Boys have performed the tune together a handful of times, and people can never seem to get enough of it. Perhaps that's the reason why Shelton decided to name his 2017 tour The Doing It to Country Songs Tour.
Based on fans' enthusiasm for the song, it looks like Shelton has decided to move forward with creating a music video to go along with it. He shared a teaser clip of the video on Monday (July 17), and from just that short bit, we can tell it's going to be good.
The text "coming soon" appears at the bottom of the screen as viewers are introduced to a barroom scene. Shelton and all of the members of the Oak Ridge Boys begin to appear, but not quite like how you would expect.
Instead of starring in the video themselves, Shelton and the Oak Ridge Boys are represented by various country critters designed in their likeness. For example, the Oak Ridge Boys' William Lee Golden is depicted as a long-bearded possum with a cowboy hat and a pair of dark sunglasses.
As for Shelton, he's played by a freakishly tall buck deer who stands on his hind legs. The deer even wears Shelton's common vest/shirt combo and is sporting his unmistakable barbed wire tattoo!
Based on this teaser clip, it seems like the video for "Doing It to Country Songs" is destined to give us a good laugh. We don't have to wait long to see it either! As Shelton revealed, the full video will debut on Wednesday (July 19).
We can't wait to see the finished product! Keep yourself entertained in the meantime by watching the teaser clip below.
