In the song that points a heavy finger at his ex and filled with jabs at her, Blake Shelton reveals that the subject of his song wasn’t a great person, but now he’s realized that this song might have ruined something huge for him.

For years Blake has been flying high on the country music charts and grown his fan base ten times since joining The Voice, but a part of his very successful career has come to a screeching halt after the debut of “She’s Got A Way With Words”.

Debuting at country radio in mid-June of this year, the third single to his 10th studio album failed to meet many people’s expectations and delivered a sizable blow to the record-breaking progress he has made.

One of the greatest achievements of his career ended quickly this week – something that hasn’t happened in seven years.

His single failed to hit the No. 1 chart spot on country music radio.

The incredible streak he held was well-known in Nashville and has been touted by his PR team for as long as he’s kept it up…but for some reason fans weren’t digging “She’s Got A Way With Words”.

Peaking at the No. 7 spot isn’t bad by any means, but it is significant that it broke his seemingly endless streak of No. 1 singles.

He kicked off the streak with 2009’s “Hillbilly Bone” and continued with memorable favorites like “God Gave Me You” and “Boys Round Here”. All in all, he had 17 singles make it to the highest chart position and has amassed 22 No. 1 singles in total.

So, while this may have ruined his streak – he still deserves some applause for his incredible accomplishment.
