For some couples, the perfect date is spent watching one of your favorite artists perform in concert. There’s a lot of excitement involved in seeing a singer perform live for the first time, and it’s fun to share in that together.
One country couple experienced an overwhelming amount of excitement when they went to watch Brantley Gilbert perform at Darien Lake in New York on Sunday (July 30). But the main reason for their joy can be attributed to something other than Gilbert’s show.
As Buffalo-based radio station WYRK 106.5 reports, during the concert Gilbert caught word that a man named Justin Orth was planning to propose to his girlfriend, Julia Roessler. The couple had spots close to the stage, so Gilbert was able to keep his eye on them.
Mid-show, Gilbert put a halt on everything so the couple could celebrate their special moment together. The cameras moved to place their image up on the big screen so everyone else could witness what was about to unfold.
Roessler seemed completely oblivious to what was going on as Orth got down on one knee behind her. He actually had to tap her arm to get her to turn around and notice him!
Once Roessler realized what was happening, she was overwhelmed with happiness. Clearly surprised, she threw her hands over her mouth as she saw Orth kneeling beside her with a ring. It didn’t take long for her to say “yes” to his proposal, and the entire crowd cheered for them as they shared a hug and kiss.
The proposal was caught on camera by one of the other attendees. You can watch the romantic moment below! Just as a warning, someone in the audience can be heard yelling inappropriate words at the beginning of the video.
Congratulations to Orth and Roessler on their engagement! It was so nice of Gilbert to put his concert on hold for them!
