Brantley Gilbert has never been shy about speaking on his unwavering relationship with his savior. In his song titled, “Three Feet of Water,” the country singer lets fans in on the moment he became a Christian, the story of his baptism.

“Long story short, it’s a song about forgiveness, mercy, and grace,” shared Gilbert in an intimate video. “Those are things that I believe in, and I’ve been accused of being a sunny Christian, which is fine. It is what it is.”

Even though the country singer has maintained his sobriety for over a five years, he still lives with the constant judgement of others. However, Gilbert isn’t losing any sleep over any of it. In an interview with CMT, Gilbert recently shared that his music show what is underneath his misunderstood exterior.

“I enjoy the opportunity to be judged — to be read by my cover — and then to show them that there’s a lot more,” Gilbert shared with CMT. “You know what I mean? Listen to a whole record and you see every side of me. If you still don’t like me, then, hey, it is what it is.”

“Three Feet of Water” is featured on his album The Devil Don’t Sleep. You can hear the story behind the emotional song below as well as listen to the song.
