Brantley Gilbert’s ‘In My Head’ Perfectly Details The Feeling Of Falling In Love

Brantley Gilbert is never short on inspiration, thanks to his wife, Amber Cochran. He has written hits about her in the past, including “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do” and “More Than Miles”.

On his brand new album The Devil Don’t Sleep, Cochran served as his muse again, and this time as his wife and not “the one who got away”.

“I identified so many things with her,” Gilbert explained to The Boot. “When it came to love, she was what I knew about love. When it came to heartbreak, she was what I knew about heartbreak … She’s got love songs about her. She had breakup songs about her.”

One song on the album that seems to be about his wife is “In My Head”. He sings about the very moment he fell in love with her after a night filled with wine, incredible conversation, watching the stars in the bed of his truck.

He sings, “This has got ‘too good to be true’ written all over it,” and if they don’t work out, he will still have this incredible memory of their time together in his head forever. Sometimes love is incredible, but most of the time it’s scary because love is an unprecedented feeling.

Fortunately, we know that it does work out, seeing as he and Cochran have been happily married for a while now!
