Brotherhood is something that every band strives for. But for Lynyrd Skynyrd, brotherhood is everything. You see, Skynyrd embodies brotherhood in the most literal sense of the word.
The group was co-founded way back when by Ronnie Van Zant, who served as the group's lead singer and songwriter. As the older brother, Ronnie passed his love of music on to his younger brothers, Donnie and Johnny.
After Ronnie passed away, his brothers carried on his musical legacy. Donnie went on to co-found and sing lead for another iconic Southern rock band, which you likely know well...38 Special.
As for Johnny, he became the new lead vocalist of Skynyrd once they reunited in 1987. He's remained their fearless leader ever since.
Brothers Matt and Sean Graff have learned from Skynyrd that the bond between brothers results in some incredible music. The two teamed up to form the Maryland-based duo The Graff Brothers, and they've been going strong for over three years now.
Back in February 2015, these two talented brothers decided to show off their skills by covering a Skynyrd classic. Their song of choice was "I Need You" which is a lesser-known but still much-appreciated track off of the band's sophomore album, Second Helping.
Sitting on the living room couch with acoustic guitars in hand, The Graff Brothers crushed out their cover of "I Need You" like pros. Matt took the lead when it came to the vocals, but Sean got the chance to show off his own chops as well. Some of our favorite parts are when the two of them sing together, creating haunting harmonies in the process.
You'll be in awe of The Graff Brothers' talent once you watch their "I Need You" cover below. Since it's sure to leave you begging for more, be sure to check out their official Facebook page here to catch more videos from them!
