Carrie Underwood Confesses How Hard It Is For Her Husband To Be Away From Their Son

Carrie Underwood has been traveling all over the country on her Storyteller tour, and she’s been lucky enough to be able to bring her son, Isaiah, along for the ride. Underwood often posts cute pictures of Isaiah on their travels together, and it seems they really enjoy their mother and son time.

However, as Underwood revealed in a interview, Isaiah really misses his father and Underwood’s husband, Mike Fisher, while he’s away. Fisher also misses his little man, with Underwood saying it “has to be hard” for him to be away from his son.

As a professional hockey player, Fisher has a busy schedule of his own, which makes it hard for him to come out and visit Underwood and their son while they’re on tour. Although he is able to visit on occasion, Underwood says the main way she makes sure father and son get plenty of quality time together is through FaceTime.

We FaceTime almost every day so [Mike] can have a little interaction with Isaiah,” she says.

But Underwood knows that video chat isn’t enough, so she’ll watch for when Fisher has a stretch of home games in his schedule. If she sees that he’ll be back home for a while, she’ll send Isaiah to him so they can spend some time together in person.

They need their time together because Isaiah loves his daddy!” she said.

We know it must be tough for Fisher to be away from his little boy, but each reunion has to feel incredible to him. Underwood’s love for the two guys in her life is crystal clear, especially so in her song “What I Never Knew I Always Wanted.” Listen to the beautiful tune below.
