Famous for vividly brutal songs of romantic revenge, country singer Carrie Underwood appears to live a vastly different story in her personal life. Underwood and her hockey player husband, Mike Fisher, appear to live a picture perfect life together, recently celebrating their sixth wedding anniversary this past July. So how do they manage it all with such busy schedules? Underwood is finally sharing her insights to achieving a happy and healthy relationship.

“It’s all about being supportive of one another,” she said according to Yahoo! Celebrity. “He’s my best friend and we love our family, that’s what it’s all about. We sacrifice for each other and compromise for each other and do our best to spend as much time as we possibly have with each other. It’s about putting your family and relationship first.”

With Underwood on the road wrapping up her Storyteller Tour and Fisher busy with the start of the hockey season, the two make sure to FaceTime each other “every day.” The pair welcomed 19-month-old son Isaiah to their family in February of last year. Underwood says she “definitely hope[s]” to give Isaiah a brother or sister someday, but has put it on hold for now with her and Fisher both on the road.

“You never know what the good Lord has in store, but right now I’m on the road and Mike’s on the road….We’ll see what happens.”
