Carrie Underwood Writes Heartbreaking Tribute On Loss Of ‘Influence’ George Michael

Temporary Home Music Video

County music powerhouse Carrie Underwood has never been shy on social media, often posting heartwarming photographs of her son, husband, and her killer fashion sense! However, the singer has since used her Instagram account for a deeper purpose, bringing not only praise, but grief, to heartthrob and performer George Michael, who unfortunately passed away on Christmas day.

Underwood spoke from the heart when she addressed the singer as her ‘influence’ from a very young age, crediting the performer with teaching her to sing. She wrote,

“I never told him (mainly because I thought I’d freak him out) but [George Michael] has always been such an influence on me. As a child, his was the first voice I could pick out of the sea of voices I heard on the radio. Before I knew anything about him, I knew his voice. As an adult, I cried when I saw him in concert. His songs and his voice helped to teach me how to sing. I will forever regret not letting him know…”

The country performer thanked Michael for the musical print he left on her life, ending her tribute with a kind “May you rest in peace.”

Fans agreed with the singer, expressing their deepest sorrow and sympathy for the talented man gone too soon.

Our prayers and thoughts remain with Michaels’ family and friends during this heartbreaking time.
