Carrie Underwood’s Former Backup Singer Makes ‘Voice’ Debut With Angelic Alison Krauss Song

If there is one contestant on The Voice who is used to being on a big stage, it would be Andrea Thomas.

For two years, she was country superstar Carrie Underwood’s backup singer and now, she’s finally giving it a go as a solo artist herself.

Singing the angelic Alison Krauss song “Baby, Now That I’ve Found You”, the Fort Worth-based singer showed off why she was chosen as a backup singer for Underwood.

“Baby, Now That I’ve Found You” was actually first released by The Temptations, and later covered by Krauss, whose version Thomas covered. She caught the attention of Blake Shelton, who sang along to her audition once he turned around.

Fans of The Voice will remember that a previous backup singer for Michael Jackson, Judith Hill, also competed on an earlier season an made it pretty far in the game!

We wish her the best of luck!  Watch her performance below.
