The beloved Christian singer had tears streaming down his cheeks as he sang through the heartbreaking moment he had to lay his father to rest.

Originally written and recorded by country music legend, Vince Gill, this beautiful and breathtaking song was the perfect selection for Michael English as he brought together the friends and family who were mourning the loss of his father.

English, whose father passed away on August 14th, 2013 after a battle with cancer, has been known worldwide for years following his chart-topping Christian hits and his time spent with the popular Gaither Vocal Band.

In this heart-wrenching moment, you catch a beautiful glimpse of the incredible love English shared for his father and you can feel the emotion radiating from him as he moves through each verse, choked up by tears but continuing on.

Although it has been years since his father’s passing, this video is still one of the most beautiful and impressive performances of this treasured country song.

Watch Michael English pour his heart and soul out while singing “Go Rest High on That Mountain” at his father’s funeral below.
