Chris Was Around Long Before Most People Realized

Chris Stapleton‘s fame has exploded over the course of the past few years, but the Grammy-winning artist has been an important fixture in Nashville for some time now.

As many of Stapleton’s new fans learned, he’s helped pen some of the biggest country hits in recent times, including Kenny Chesney‘s “Never Wanted Nothing More” and Luke Bryan‘s “Drink a Beer.”

Stapleton also helped co-write the number one hit “Your Man,” which was recorded by Josh Turner and released in 2005 as the lead single from his album of the same title.

The Seductive Song You Never Knew Chris Wrote

“Your Man” was Turner’s first number one hit, and has since been certified Platinum by the RIAA.

The song is about a man who’s smooth-talking to his lover, saying “lock the door and turn the lights down low. Put some music on that’s soft and slow.” Stapleton and his co-writer, Chris DuBois, later earned a ASCAP award for their work on the song.

During an appearance on the Bobby Bones radio show in 2013, Stapleton chose to revisit “Your Man” in a performance of his own.

While strumming along on his acoustic guitar, Stapleton wowed everyone in the room with his natural talent.

Between the romantic lyrics and the passionate way that Stapleton performs the song, his version will definitely make you feel like falling in love!

You can tune in below to watch Stapleton’s unforgettable performance of “Your Man.” It’s always fun to hear songwriters perform their work, and when that singer-songwriter is Stapleton, it’s a real treat!
