Conway Twitty’s ‘Third Man’ Gives A Powerful Insight Into His Relationship With God

Country Music Hall Of Fame

Country music legend Conway Twitty’s “Third Man” is a powerful song about eternal redemption by accepting Jesus Christ into your heart.

Conway emotionally sings about a dream he had where he visited “Calvary’s lonely hill” at the time Christ (the third man) was crucified on the cross. Conway sings with captivating emotion during his recount of visiting the Third Man on the day that He died for His children.

“I saw upon three crosses three men in agony,” sings Conway. “Two cried out for mercy and the third man he looked at me…It seemed I could hear him say ‘Son, I’m doing for you.”

“Third Man” is featured on his 1973 studio album Who Will Pray For Me. The song gives his fans a unique look into their idol’s religious views, a rarity amongst artists today.
